Bloss House Museum

In 1972, several Atwater residents formed a society to save and preserve Bloss home, a residential dwelling rich in history and stories. Initially, the founders used the two rooms–the living room and sunroom–as offices for the Atwater Chamber of Commerce and the City of Atwater Redevelopment Agency.

Eventually, the agency left the Bloss house, prompting the founders to turn it into a history museum. Then, in 1995, the founders raised funds to restore the property’s glorious past. The restoration continues up to this day, although it only entails smaller projects.

The Bloss House Museum is now open for group and school tours to allow visitors to get a glimpse of the city’s past through pictures, pictures, and records.

Castle Air Museum

The museum houses more than 70 restored vintage military aircraft ranging from World War II fighter jets to modern-day warplanes. It also carries an extensive collection of wartime mementos, historical photos, servicemen uniforms, and other military artifacts from the past century.

One of the most prized collections of Castle Air Museum is its complete lineage of Bomber Aircraft on the West Coast that spans nearly 70 years, dating way back before World War II. Other aircraft models you can find at the museum include jet fighters like Lockheed P-80 and the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon.

Meanwhile, the museum gives visitors a peek into aviation’s past and lends insight into what it will become in the future.

Rancho Del Rey

This semi-private 18-hole, par 72 golf course includes two practice putting greens and a full driving range. Once you’re done with your game, you may want to have a cold drink or even a pleasant lunch at their cafe and lounge.

Hunter Farms Pumpkin Patch

This family-friendly attraction houses a petting zoo, a few tractor slides, shooting games, a zip line, a jumping pillow, and a small snack bar. While the facilities and attractions are a bit limited, there’s a plan to expand the venue in the coming years.

Heartstrings Shop

This little local shop is arguably the best place to buy gifts for family and friends. From table runners and dresser scars to baby items, kitchen utensils, and quaint and quirky knick-knacks, you can always find something interesting here.

Aside from knick-knacks and trinkets, the local shop, which looks like a cute, quaint house on the corner of the street, also sells delectable treats, homemade jams, and artisan coffee.
